Student Blog: Stay strong 最新麻豆视频
In this week’s Principal’s Assembly, Emily, our new School Captain for 2021/2022, urged the 最新麻豆视频 community to be resilient and to stay active.
“Hey everyone, my name is Emily and I will be your School Captain for 2021/2022. I hope your first week of online learning has gone well and that you have settled in to Term 3 okay. I know we’ve experienced a few glitches, but it just proves that whenever there are hiccups, we just get back up and go again. So here we are! I hope you’re keeping positive mindsets during this lockdown. Even though it can be hard at times, staying positive is one of the things that will help to get us through. We can’t control COVID or lockdown, but it won’t last forever and there’s always something good around the corner.
Although we might not have wanted to start Term 3 this way, it’s important that we continue to check in on one another and that we keep in contact with our friends outside of Zoom or online learning platforms. These isolating times can push us out of our comfort zones and force us to be braver and stronger, even when we don’t want to be.
Some of you might be enjoying online learning and being disconnected from normal school life. Others might be finding it more challenging, so let’s make sure we are kind and look out for one another. If you need a bit of encouragement, please reach out. It’s the best thing you can do because I can guarantee, there are so many people willing to help you, whether it’s me or a teacher you trust. In saying this, you also need to remember to take a break from school. Try to get outside – fresh air and exercise can really help to clear your head and give you a sense of perspective.
We might be teaching and learning remotely right now, and I know there’s a lot of uncertainty, but please remember to believe in yourself and the people around you. It’s at times like this when we don’t know what lies ahead, when we might find something new about ourselves or find a new activity that we enjoy.
Over the next year, I encourage you all to bring your strengths to the table and grow as young women. Together, our goal is to be strong, brave, wise, courageous and optimistic people and with self-belief and encouragement, we can all strive to be the best we can be. Over the next 12 months, I hope we can all learn more about each other. For those of you who don’t know me, my favourite movie is Toy Story. And even though it might sound crazy, we can all learn a few lessons from the toys in Andy’s closet. They taught me to never be afraid to reinvent yourself, that change is inevitable, and that if we are there for our friends, they will be there for us too. They also taught me to be brave, to always have hope and not to be scared to show how you feel.
So 最新麻豆视频, over the next few weeks – or however long we are learning remotely – let’s make sure we focus on the present, we get plenty of fresh air and we reach out to our friends. Whether it’s surviving online school and lockdown or trying something new, keep being yourself!
I look forward to getting to know you and cannot wait to see you all in person when we return to the School campus. Have a great week girls! And as Buzz always says, the important thing is that we all stick together.
That’s it from me, thanks everyone.
Emily (Year 11)
School Captain 2021/2022
