Ms Restuccia reflects on her impressions of 最新麻豆视频 thus far:
“Last week I was asked by a prospective student, a young student in Year 5, what makes 最新麻豆视频 special. As someone who has been with 最新麻豆视频 for about seven weeks, I considered what had already stood out. I did not need to ponder long. All members of the 最新麻豆视频 community, with whom I have had the pleasure to meet and engage with, have embraced me as one of their own. I already feel very much a part of the community, through invitations to staff morning teas, coffee catch-ups, information events about the programs and offerings available to students, particularly Service Learning, as well as the student gatherings in the Undercroft that promote connection and foster a spirit of community among all who participate. As I told Year 12 at their recent Academic Retreat, you reap what you sow. If you want a great community you need to invest in it, value it and model citizenship and leadership that expects this as a bare minimum.
I have had some wonderful teaching experiences, ones that have allowed me to meet many people from many different cultures, some vastly different to my own. I did not imagine myself traveling the world and landing on the other side, far away from my family and everything I had known, when I was a young adult. However, if I can impart anything to the young adults in the Senior College, it would be that nothing is impossible if you believe you can do it. Lean into the uncomfortable because that it when you start to grow.
I look forward to learning more about the aspirations of all Senior College students, and I will be front and centre to congratulate and celebrate them, when they achieve them."
