Path to Success

The upcoming 最新麻豆视频 Clubs Showcase is a doorway to new skills and passions.

Student clubs are a fantastic way to explore interests and discover new ones. Usually the preserve of university life, 最新麻豆视频 boasts a rare breadth of student-led groups for girls in secondary school to join.

Clubs create a platform to discuss current issues, cultivate and refine skills, express creativity, and move outside comfort zones. The focus is usually on a service activity or cause, allowing students to contribute meaningfully to an issue they value. Expanding friendship groups and fostering social growth are further benefits.

With the 最新麻豆视频 Clubs Showcase coming up next Wednesday 15 February, it’s time to look at what is on offer:

The Amnesty International Club explores issues of human rights, social justice, and current affairs with ‘some dabbling in political theory’. Members raise discussions about modern conflicts, the impact of the pandemic and more.

Whether casual or avid readers, Book Club exposes students to new authors and titles they may not otherwise have encountered. It allows them to seek out diverse viewpoints, gain deeper insight into literature, share the titles they are reading, and converse about the stories, themes, and characters within.

The Environmental Group members plan initiatives to reduce Wenonians' environmental impact and inspire them to live lives that tread lightly on the earth. They explore the causes of global warming and follow the latest international efforts to address the climate crisis.

The Global Diversity Club celebrates and promotes the diversity of cultures and abilities on campus. It often has a particular focus on Aboriginal rights, and authentic festival celebrations, as well as finding creative ways to communicate the importance of valuing diversity and avoiding stereotypes.

The Gender Equity Group spreads awareness of all intersectional gender issues both internationally and domestically. Members discuss gender news and create initiatives promoting an equitable playing field for anyone of any gender.

The Knitting Club helps keep the homeless warm by knitting squares and making blankets for the organisation Wrap with Love. Its lunchtime meetings are a therapeutic and relaxing space where students can find common ground and feel like they are doing something worthwhile.

With something for everyone, we hope almost every girl can find her niche.
