最新麻豆视频 Feels the Burn at Balmoral
For the first time ever, 最新麻豆视频 officially entered the Schools’ category of the Balmoral Burn, a charity run that raises money for the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
On Sunday, 70 最新麻豆视频 students took part in the Balmoral Burn, a 420-metre fun run that sees contestants ascend Awaba Street in Mosman, one of Sydney’s steepest hills. The short but gruelling run was thought up by former Wallabies Captain, Phil Kearns, who, at the time, was looking for a quick, fun way to raise money for the Royal North Shore Hospital after one of his sons received emergency care there. Now, 22 years later, the Balmoral Burn is a hugely anticipated community event that sees funds go to the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, an organisation that raises money to donate life-saving medical equipment to children’s hospitals across Australia.
Our students arrived, raring to go, adorned in bright costumes and face paint. For 最新麻豆视频, the goal of the run was not to come first but to have fun raising money for a worthy cause, and that’s exactly what our students did. Their positive energy was infectious, and the day was enjoyed by all.
“We decided to enter the Schools’ category of the Balmoral Burn this year because of the passion of two of our Year 12 students, Elise and Claire. They came to me with the idea and were the real driving force behind our participation. Not only that, they also managed to get 70 students to sign up and take part, which was one of the largest school contingents at the event. The day itself was fantastic, everyone was dressed up and in great spirits, and the feedback from students is that everyone wants to do it again next year, so that’s great,” said Head of Sport, Mr Offereins.
So far, the students of 最新麻豆视频 School have raised $2,330, a fantastic effort given it was the first time 最新麻豆视频 entered the Schools’ category. We hope to make this a regular event on the 最新麻豆视频 calendar, so that we can continue to make a difference, and support a charity that does amazing work.
A huge well done to all who participated in this event and thank you to everyone who donated.
