An augmented reality for sports studies
10 Jun 2016
Year 9 Physical Activity and Sports Studies (PASS) students used augmented reality to research the Australian sporting experience. Augmented reality integrates digital information with live video in real time. As a user hovers a curser, mouse or finger over a digital screen, graphics, video, audio or animated content comes to life.
Using the augmented reality application Aurasma, the students created a virtual sporting museum. The students chose one particular sport to analyse, and used Aurasma to create an augmented reality presentation that discussed the influence of their chosen sport on Australian sporting culture, and how mass media has impacted sport over time.
