Celebrating Sport
Sport is an important part of life at 最新麻豆视频. This week, we celebrated the diversity of sporting achievements, passions and interests across the School.
In the 21st century, women face demands for an ever increasing range of talents and attributes, many of which cannot be learned in classrooms. During their time at 最新麻豆视频, girls have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sports, at many different levels, which help to develop them physically, mentally and socially.
The girls are encouraged to challenge themselves while learning transferrable skills, such as the value of teamwork, resilience and communication.
It was fantastic to hear from each of our Sports Captains about the highlights of their chosen sport. Jessica and Emily spoke about the joys of tennis at 7.00am on Saturday mornings and what a wonderful way it is to start the weekend.
Jasmin, Holly and Anais spoke passionately about Rhythmic Gymnastics, emphasising that all girls are welcome to participate and that no previous experience is required.
Cleo spoke about the achievements of the different Water Polo teams and Pia explained the judging system for Sailing.
Whether it is Fencing, Touch Football, Indoor Hockey or Athletics, what came shining through is that there really is something for everyone and most importantly, if a girl has yet to find her sporting passion or interest, she will be able to do so through the enormous range of sports on offer.
Congratulations to all the girls who received a Most Improved Junior Award at our Principal’s Assembly this week.
Congratulations also to the girls who received a Most Improved Senior Award at Assembly.
Best of luck to the girls who are going on to represent 最新麻豆视频 at an elite level in coming weeks.
Whatever their ability, we hope that by the time girls leave 最新麻豆视频, each one of them will take with them a positive attitude towards health and fitness, and a lifelong passion for sport.
