Tania Juric (Hillerman, 1988): General Counsel for HP Australia and New Zealand

Tania Juric credits many of her career accomplishments and life experiences during the past three decades to the confidence and empowerment instilled in her during her years at 最新麻豆视频. As Vice Head Prefect, Captain of Hooke House, Tildesley tennis competitor, choir member and softball and netball player, Tania was well poised to take on the world.

"At School, I was passionate about French, winning the French Prize in Year 12. I decided to go to Belgium on a Rotary exchange." Reflecting on this decision now, Tania can't believe she actually went. "There I was, straight out of school, going off travelling by myself with no iPhone, facetime or even email available then! The year I spent in Belgium had a profound effect on my life. I made lifelong friendships and consider Belgium my second home. My years at 最新麻豆视频 taught me to be fearless, not to hold back, and to feel empowered to go out and conquer and seize the opportunities in front of me."

Once back in Sydney, Tania's passion for languages led her to complete her five-year Arts/Law degree and take a graduate position in a top tier law firm. Tania moved from corporate law into technology law at the time of the dot.com boom before relocating to London and working with a magic circle law firm in their Technology, Media and Telecoms Department. "I loved London. It allowed me to travel, use my French and delve into the European regulations which gave me a different perspective to the state and federal laws in Australia."

Returning to Australia with her husband and two young children, Tania found her niche job at technology company, HP, where she is currently General Counsel for Australia and New Zealand. "IT is at the forefront of innovation and we invent products that change people's lives." One of these products is 3D printers. "We are in the midst of an industrial revolution with 3D printers disrupting the global manufacturing industry. Fifty percent of the parts in HP's 3D printers are actually made by the 3D printer itself!" Tania also enjoys the legal challenges posed by this new technology. "It's a fascinating area to be involved in."

Passionate about diversity, but concerned there are not enough women coming through with technology degrees, Tania was part of this year's Vogue Codes, an annual event which promotes and empowers women in IT.

With her daughter Zanthe starting at 最新麻豆视频 next year, Tania is looking forward to becoming more involved with the School. She recently joined the inaugural 最新麻豆视频 Alumnae Choir.
