Senior Athletics Carnival highlights
Enthusiasm and excellence were hallmarks at 最新麻豆视频’s Senior School Athletics Carnival.
Three records were broken at the event, held at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre on May 2, while School spirit was on display with vivid costumes and vocal performances in the House Cheers.
Brooke, of Year 11, broke senior discus and javelin records with a throw of 31.08 metres in discus and 36.38 metres in javelin. Brooke shaved three metres off the javelin record which has stood at 33.35 metres since 2000.
Twins Amy and Sophie, also in Year 11, broke the senior high jump record. Both cleared 1.6 metres, a significant jump on the previous record of 1.54 metres. Hooke house leader Antonia placed first in the Open 100 metre invitational race, run by students of all grades.
Head of PDHPE Lisa Bauer said students enjoyed great weather on the day and participated in a range of events, from highly competitive to novelty.
"This year's senior athletics carnival was a fun, active day with a variety of events on offer across all age groups," Miss Bauer said. "There was a lot of engagement and enthusiasm.”
Junior, Intermediate and Senior age champions and House winner will be announced at assembly on Tuesday.
